1600 – 2800

Ultrafast lasers at 2μm enable diverse applications ranging from material processing, remote sensing, to medical use, and can facilitate the effective generation of coherent radiation in other spectral regions that are not easily accessible, for example, soft X-rays. Consequently, the interest has been broadened from well-established Ti:Sa (~800 nm)  and Yb:YAG ~(1030 nm) lasers to thulium- and holmium-based laser systems operating around 2 μm. Therefore, developments in these fields rely on the availability of dispersive mirrors from 1.6 μm to 2.4 μm.
